The Charlotte Spartans embody the Spartan spirit. From game watches to community events, we bleed green in the Carolinas! Whether you are a Charlotte resident or just visiting, we welcome you to join us for any of our upcoming events. GO GREEN!

Mission Statement

The Charlotte Spartans’ mission is simple – Spartans for Life. We may be around 680 miles away from East Lansing, but our love for our alma mater never dies. The Charlotte Spartans are an energetic, passionate and fun-loving group mixed of many decades and generations of MSU Spartan Alumni. We are proud to be Spartans and try to do as many things as we can in the local community, as well as the Spartan community. With the great support of our MSU Alumni Association network, we work to nurture our local alumni involvement in community service projects, professional networking events, fundraisers, game watches, family events (inspiring our younger generation Spartans to follow our path), and social events. One of our great initiatives is also supporting our Endowed Scholarship for Carolina area students attending Michigan State from the Carolinas.

  • This is a big area of focus for our club moving forward. The Charlotte Spartans look to support our community through service events and raising money for various Michigan State students through including our Endowed Scholarship Fund Swarthout Alumni Scholarship of the Carolinas.

  • The Swarthout Alumni Scholarship of the Carolinas was established to help students from the Carolinas attend MSU. Scholarships like this continuously become more important as collegiate costs continue to escalate. We encourage our local Spartans to give back to this great fund year-round. There are also a number of other programs at Michigan State that could use your help. Click here for more information.

  • The Spartan Way is to make an impact on the world. In 2019, we plan to bring that focus to Charlotte. Stay tuned to see our upcoming community service events including our participation in the MSU Global Day of Service and establishing an annual event during our football season bye week.
